Biomimicry + materiality






As in the explored precedents, the proposal features inspiration from the selected species both formally and structurally. The first layer of biomimicry in this case is the extrusion of the formal structure from the pattern of the mechanics of the wings. Secondly, those are encapsulated in a form that subtly mimics that of a wingspan. The final layer of biomimicry is the material composition likened to actualbiological load-bearing structures directly inspired by that of the precedent: glass- and carbon-fibre-reinforced plastics.
